How Does Acupuncture Work?
Acupuncture works because of the affect it has on the central nervous
system of the human body. It restores or improves blood circulation
among the acupuncture points linking the health systems.
Western
medicine recognizes “an increase in cerebrospinal
fluid beta-endorphin levels” resulting from acupuncture procedures.

Acupuncture is used by 10 million American patients
yearly and is performed by thousands of physicians, master’s
degree level acupuncturists and other practitioners for relief
or prevention of pain and a variety of health problems.
Chinese medicine is an ancient healing art, a
simple philosophy.
Every thing in the world you can divide into
two opposing parts -Yin and Yang.
For example: hot and cold,
light and dark, etc.
We also believe the world is ever changing
in promoting of the five elements.
Wood -->fire-->earth-->metal-->water-->wood.
Disease occurs in the imbalance of the Yin and Yang, and the
imbalance of the five elements. Basic to the theory, to prevent
a disease or to treat a disease is Yin and yang, and five elements
into balance.
Eastern medicine is completely different from western
medicine. However it just looking at a diamond from the different
angle.
What are the great advantages from Chinese medicine?
- It is a completely naturally therapy. We
use the sterilized and disposable needles insert into the body
or use herbs to stimulate
the body and bring it back into balance. There are no side
effects. That means a great deal to the people who have chronic
illnesses
and those people who are taking many medications.
- The body is a whole system. Chinese medicine emphasizes
body and environment as a whole. The weather, seasons, living
and
work condition are affecting our health. Each part of the body
is connected. A headache can be a sign of organ imbalance.
Many symptoms can be caused by one imbalance of the organs.
So it
is important for us to treat the whole person, not just symptoms.
- We treat every person individually. Many
people have the same disease but the individual condition is
different so the treatment
is different. For example, two people have bronchitis, one
has yellow and thick sputum, we believe the body has too much
heat,
which is too much Yang. The other person has clear thin sputum;
that means too much Yin is in the body. So the treatment of
bronchitis for two cases will be two completely different formulas.
- To treat a disease, we are always looking
for the cause. Any symptom of a disease is an imbalance of
internal organs. Treating
the cause of disease will bring the body back to balance.
